Long Beach Crew Trip

 

This is our lovely crew team a.k.a. rowing family. Nothing beats an intense game of ultimate frisbee at sunset beach after a wonderful day of rowing. our varsity 4 even made it back to finals!

 

This is what the crew team is known for, our snuggle piles. 

 This is mike, our silly coach with the British accent. he struggles at thumb wars, likes to tell us the story about him and his wife falling in love, makes us do jumpies right before we race, and it is impossible not to laugh at him when he is yelling because he's completely incoherent. and when we tell him we love him he responds by saying, "made my day , that has".

  This is Coach Henrickson. he took this flattering picture himself. during our varsity 4 race we rowed a "15  to make coach cry" and sure enough when we got back to the beach he was standing there all puffy eyed and proud. that kind of a thing makes all of the dreadful pre season and Wednesday urg days worth it.

 i got the pilot to wave at me ! what a nice guy. also, from now on i always want to fly jet blue. they give you a whole can of soda, comfy seats, individual tv's with 30 channels , including food network and ridiculousness, and gourmet snacks, and a peacefully silent plane ride, unlike delta which has a high pitched screeching sound the whole flight.

 this is from the flower shop we stopped by on our way to the tattoo parlor to get double piercings as a team.  but don't worry, when we got there they only did tattoos.

this is my ginger ale on a plane picture that i take every time i fly. just a little tradition i'm starting.
